About this hobbit

Formerly known as “Haribol Photography”, having studied Philosophy at the University of Southampton, I decided to start blogging 4 years ago mostly combining philosophical thoughts and opinions with photography. However, always failing to be consistent, I only recently realised why. The answer being that having started my blog so long ago, I was losing interest in writing about philosophy mostly because I wanted to create an online space that was light hearted and fun to read. The lack of which meant I wasn’t updating my blog as much as I once used too.

Having always loved food, I had a change of heart with the direction of my blog and with the help of my tech savvy boyfriend, I managed to give it a much needed face lift.

Now, the new and revived blog has a page dedicated to reviews of restaurants and café’s I’ve visited as well as recipes of of food I’ve made. The recipes are by no means complex as I’m a strong believer in quick, easy and healthy food and the reviews are by no means professional. Rather, the reviews are there as a guide for any vegan or vegetarian or even meat lover that occasionally loves a vegetarian meal looking for a good place to eat. Another page is dedicated to photography – mostly travel and landscape photography. However when I started taking pictures 4 years ago, event photography became an offshoot of that hobby due to which some posts may also be portrait and event photography.

I do not claim to be a professional because photography for me started as a hobby and something I learnt simply by continuing to experiment with my camera. From a small nikon digital camera, I now have a full, yet growing professional camera kit (which is very exciting). I still don’t know many technical terms, nor am I a pro with editing but I love what I do and want to share it with the world – what better way to do that than to start my own blog?

So, come and be a part of my adventures away from the shire and into the big (not actually scary) world as there are plenty more restaurants and café’s I want to visit and many more photographs I want to take.
